Here is a front view of my new Eastman 615, sn108. #The colors are a little brighter in the picture than they truly are in the flesh. #Note the sound hole binding. #Really cool, and not typical for this model.

I am totally impressed with the workmanship, quality of woods and the tone for the price. #It may not measure up tone wise to an Oldwave (for example), but I'm real happy with it, never the less.

Cheers,
#Brian

Very Nice! I have seen a few of the 600 series with bound F-holes. All of them were "early" SN like yours. My 615 is SN 128 and does not have teh boud F-holes. I had a 605 a style SN 40 that had bound F-holes. I wish on of my Eastmans had bound sound holes. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif

My Eastman 615 has bound soundholes. In fact, it's overall pretty flashy for a 615!

My 615 had the bound soundholes also, these are great mandos for the price - enjoy

Nice looking 615, RichM.

I am pleasantly surprised at just how loud mine is, and its not at all harsh. Rather it has a nice, sweet tone. I am anxious to put some decent strings on it, as I'm told the stock strings are mediocure at best. Thing is, I can't put it down long enough to change strings. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Congrats prayerbone,

A guality F style mando has always seemed to be just beyond my financial reach until the Eastman's came along. #I consider mine to be one of the best instrument purchases I've ever made. #Just keep in mind that it's not a Gibson or other high end custom instrument. #And, who knows, maybe in 50 or 60 years (well past my lifetime) our early Eastman's will be quite the collectors dream. #In any event, I expect my recent case of MAS to now be in remission for quite a few years. #http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Onesound,
welcome to the family!

I will be writing a note to the manager of the workshop, that kind of flame should be used in the more expensive instruments. We must have made a mistake here, could you mail the mando back and we will send you a less flamed model.
Just joking,
Gordon

Hi Gordon,
Yea, right, send it back. #Ha... #Over my dead body! #My Eastman ownership is all your fault, BTW, and thanks to the Washington DC gathering last December that you hosted.
Cheers,
