GrassTrak is giving a free download Ashokan Farewell this April. It's delivered as a zip file via your email. Here's the link to the website: http://www.grasstrax.com/

You would be 2 hours filling in your details to get this, life is too short.

Funny that this is their free song of the month. I just heard it for the first time on one of the Weber videos and wanted to learn it.

I've never tried using an accompaniment like this but it seems worth a try. I did the download and it was pretty quick and easy.

Thanks!

There are three TablEdit Versions on Mandozine (http://www.mandozine.com/music/search_results.php?searchfor=farewell&tuneselectby=C&mandolevel=&category=&songkey=&artist=&transcriber=&sortby=T&sortorder=A&submit=) Beginner, intermediate, and duet.

And one here on the Cafe (http://www.mandolincafe.com/tab/ashoken.txt)in TXT format.

Don't know about the backing track there, hope it's helpful for some. I checked the site but am not interested in registering and not sure if I'd care for the backing track just based on the sample I heard.

BUT I second Jamie's response: FREE no-hassle downloads of the Tabledit files at mandozine - not backing tracks, but tabs and you can play along with the midi . . .

As a beginner, I downloaded and use the simple melody version, and as a beginner, I added some double-stops while learning it, and tabbed out my simple arrangement with double-stops . . . I've made that available here: http://www.markgunter.net/good_stuff/16/lyrics-tabs-song-charts
