Four days till the auction ends, the current bid is relatively moderate given that the mandolin appears to be in a pretty good condition, fully original, and it is a rather fancy model of theirs.
I consulted an MC member ("Tavy") who's got the experience with that maker, and he said some good things about the De Cristofaro he had/worked on.
My main concerns about that particular mandolin are related to the tuning machine functioning, and also any neck/FB distortions. If it would turn out to be an easily playable and nicely sounding instrument, then going to several hundred dollars might be worth it. So I am thinking about it.
If you have any first hand experience with the maker, please share, and if you could post some pictures of your De Cristofaro mandolin that would be even better.
