I'm in Pottstown. There are open sessions at the Mermain Inn near Norristown (40 minutes from you?) on some nights see the calendar here. (http://www.themermaidinn.net/jam.html) I've not been but once my kids are older I really want to.

I host the jam in Sellersville on the 1st and 3rd Tues. of the month from 8 to 11 at the Washington House Restaraunt on Main St. This is a long established jam with some really great pickers. The jam takes place near the front end of the bar (smoke free!) and can be a little close for picking but who doesn't like an intimate jam?! There are frequent bluegrass groups booked next door at the Sellersville Theater (owned by Washington House). It is great to see bluegrass supported in this part of the state.
PM me if you need any more info.

That's the "Mermaid Inn" at the bottom of Chestnut Hill, right Jamie? I'm very near there, and hoping to get to more of those jams... they have celtic, bg, old-time and some others... all of them open and with some regulars. I'm in Germantown, btw.

Karen, that is the place... #I' can't spell so god. At the very least if I go I can have a beer away from my kids once in a blue moon and "play music too my mando" to open er up. #I would like to meet you there and talk about the Mando workshop you attended in NoVa (I lived for a year in Front Royal-pre mando. #I'll stay in touch... Don't miss the Philly Folk Fest in Scweknsville. #There are plenty of opportunities to jam there as well.

I think a West Chester jam or a Northern Chester County jam is in order, up towards Pottstown.

Just checked back in - lots of inquiries on this one. I suppose we need a date, time and a place to play. Let me ponder.

The Chester County Old Time Fiddler's Picnic is next Saturday, August 13, 2005, at Hibernia County Park. Any thoughts of congregating there?

I intend to be there, and will look for you - not sure what I am wearing that will be distinctive besides a skintight MandoMan uniform with Red Spruce Codpiece and Ebony Cape, and "F5" emblazoned in pearl inlay on the chest.

Hey - Delaware Valley folks-- there's a kicking Celtic festival gonna happen up in Bethlehem PA the weekend of Sept. 23-25 in case you're interested.

Everything from fiddle contest, border collie demos, those weird Scottish sports featuring the tossing of telephone poles and big rocks, to the eating of the Haggis and lots of great music!

there are some seisiuns scheduled as well...I've never been before, so I don't know if this is a jam opportunity, but for Celtic music enthusiasts oughtta be a good time.

I used to participate in an art show in Chadds Ford, just south of West Chester. Then on friday night we would jam at a local tavern on the corner of Rt. 1 and 100. I wonder if they still do? I think I should find out and go again. I had so much fun there.

Gottasmile, what do they play at the campground, old time, bluegrass...? How many show up, skill level, etc. etc.
