Can anybody here shed light on this mandolin that was in Bruce Webers collection.

These seem to show up every now and then. I was interested in buying one of these a couple of years ago. They were a joint venture between Bruce Weber and Greg Rich. They made a few of them and then ran aground over some differences. Vern Brekke responded to the last posting when this came up and he shared some background. There was one at Buffalo Brothers for sale awhile back and maybe it is still there. It was a black topped F5. Vern said that Bruce was not involved in any black topped Loar F5's. I suppose Greg Rich made a few after they parted company. FWIW, this is the first one I've seen that has this high of an asking price.

Some of you folks out there have info relating to these Mandos so correct me if this information is incorrect.

I've played one of those. Very powerful mandolin. LOT'S of volume and a strong, cutting tone.
