I'm wanting to hear more mandolin music & figure, being in Australia, the best way might be to access US-based stations on the Internet...do any of you have stations you listen to, like & would recommend?

Here's a couple of community stations, I have a show on one of them. You will have to listen and find what you like, but there are lots of great shows.

Try Folk Alley (http://www.folkalley.com/), also worth looking through the eTown archives (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTGtS-tJYtDwA_DyaFmElNA).

Yes also for 24-hr folk music at http://www.folkalley.com/

I especially appreciate their real-time playlist, which even shows the artist and sing title in the marquee of iTunes when using that as media player.

WAMU in DC has good bluegrass programming via their channel "Bluegrass Country"

http://wamu.org/programs/schedule/ (choose the Bluegrass Country tabs for schedule or player)

Thanks bingoccc for the link to Mandozine Radio. When Live365 shutdown Jan 31, thousands of Internet Radio stations went dead. Many of them moved to Radionomy, but they require a minimum listener hours per day, so others created playlists on 8tracks. I moved to Radionomy, but also set up Theme Time on Mandozine Radio on 8tracks. I have 12 playslists there. Hog time Radio has great Bluegrass playlists on 8tracks.

I've been listening to 'The Bluegrass Mix'' for a few years now - http://www.bluegrassmix.com/ It's a good station, mainly Bluegrass but with some 'other stuff' on occasion,

Folk Alley is Much better than all the Sydney and Melbourne radio stations. I listen to it constantly.

Go to iTunes (Mac or Windows), select the internet radio streams.
Important: these are NOT the "paid" Apple-provided radio streams.

Go to the "country" genre area.
You'll find anywhere between 5-10 stations with "bluegrass" in the name, that have plenty of mandolin.

Of course, this only works if you're after bluegrass mandolin playing...
