Florence Killen's Waltz (written by Clifford Manley)
Florence Killen is a Nova Scotia musician, and the author of the beautiful "River John Sunset Waltz", which I have previously recorded (Link (http://www.mandolincafe.com/forum/group.php?discussionid=4987&do=discuss)). However, "Florence Killen's Waltz" was written not BY Ms Killen but FOR her, by her friend Clifford Manley, another Nova Scotia fiddler.
My duet recording on two mandolins with tenor guitar backup is based on the arrangement by Alf Warnock for the Ottawa Fiddle Ensemble at:
http://www.alfwarnock.info/ofe/pdf/17.pdf
I note that Alf has wrongly credited Florence as the author of the tune.
Played on an old Gibson oval-hole mandolin.
1921 Gibson Ajr mandolin (x2)
Ozark tenor guitar
