O.K., so it isn't a Nugget ot a Monteleone. But it is a pre-Gibson Flatiron 1N. I love it!!!!! I did a little tinkering with it here and there, put the original bridge back on it (in the right position this time), that raised the action to where it doesn't have that anoying buzz anymore, moved the bridge back toword the tailpiece so that the upper registers will fret true now and voila! I now have a mandolin for picking out those fiddle tunes and don't have to worry about being heard over the b@njo. All of this for about one paycheck less than what I was thinking that I would be spending. Life is goooooood!

The only actual Russian Luthier that I know is a fellow in Novosibirsk that builds violins. He makes everythig but the strings in his workshop. Yep, even the tuning pegs, the bridges, the bows, and before you ask, yes, he cuts he horsehair and thairs he bows himself too. They are a joy to behold, but I can't justify the $3,000.00 and up that they cost. I can't play the fiddle either. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif
