Just an anecdote re: Lafayette(La.) - I went to New Orleans 'couple years ago ; It was Ok..., BUT.. ; someone suggested I visit Lafayette! - I went! - Had a HOOT!! - inexpensive(and GOOD!)eats(and "drinks") - very friendly folks - Lots of jam/club/music - AND "traditional" too!! - Forget New Orleans!! - A Lafayette "native" told me "...hey, we gave New Orleans back to the French.." !!?## - My apologies to the New Orlean'ers reading this. Lafayette is in the center of French Louisiana (Cajun Country to tourists). 30-40 years ago you could walk around old downtown and most of the people over 50 would be speaking French, their first language.BTW Jole Blon sounds good on a mandolin.
This Saturday afternoon/night 9/3/05 at Acadian Village. New River Line and Louisiana Purchase on stage. Jam before/after/during the show.
