Blue Book (http://bluebookofguitarvalues.com/Mandolin_Values/Manufacturers/Alvarez/Categories/Mandolins/Models/A1E_Electric?id=Alvarez_Mandolins_A1E_Electric) seems to indicate "manufactured 2006-08."
Don't know if that's a complete range of when it was built. I've seen other, more current listings of an A1E with a sunburst finish and "F" soundholes.

Basically designed to be played as an electric. No-soundhole design may reduce feedback.

I know that, I was joking about another thread about pick guards blocking sound.
