Traditionally, oval-holed mandolins have 12 frets to the body.

I'm looking for an F-style oval-hole w/ a 15-fret neck & radiused fingerboard.

These are the builders I know who make one:

Clark
Smart
Brock
Weber

Then there are those who make one 'in-between' 12 and 15 frets:

Mowry (14 fret),
Collings (13 fret)
Poe (13 fret)

Anyone know of any others?

Many thanks.

I believe Northfield also makes one (assuming I can count...) Look up YouTube videos for the Northfield F2S - it's quite a nice sounding mandolin. Or email them about making you a Master model oval hole. Here's a link to Emory Lester and Adam Steffey demonstrating this model.

Capek
Lebeda
Rozawood
Prucha

I imagine that most Oval Hole F's - and A's produced after WWII have the longer neck... Might be easier to ask who still produces short neck F5 Ovals...

Gail Hester makes a fine F-4 but the ones I have seen on the Cafe, the neck joins at the 12th fret.

Sonny Morris built a great one for me back in 2010. Sweet tone, very playable, totally hand built, very affordable. Sounds better now than it did new.

There's this beauty by Holst (http://www.mandolincafe.com/ads/88600) in the Classifieds, at a very reasonable price. Sometimes, just sometimes, I wish I lived in North America.

I'm confused. You're selling yours that you love because you don't play it due to a Heiden you bought, but you're looking for a replacement?

Almost seems this was created for other reasons...
