ok i know this is a stupid question but here goes anyway...
I had to send my acoustic off for some repairs
and I will have do an acoustic type gig with my four
string Schwab...anybody have any ideas as to how to limit
the sustain on an electric to make a more percussive acoustic mando like chop? I can try and palm mute but the hand angle is a bit difficult to mute and chop at the same time

the band does NOT have a drummer so i want to be able to
contribute the same drive that i try and do with my acoustic

Does anybody have any experience using and elctric mando with those acoustic guitar simulator boxes?

thanks for any help

Chop, probably dampen the ring with LH release and palm mute on the bridge a little too
simulator #Boss ac2, wasnt too happy with it , solid body rock guitar playing guy likes it , probably needs the lower pitch strings..
A Plate reverb type would probably do a lot, #better, Got a wood plate setting on the mixer digital reverb options?
used 4 string and an elec 8 with ac2, in my sample.

You are in great trouble, my friend.

Best you can do is some subtle LH muting, but "Chop" and electric mando?
...reminds me of the phrase "like fish & bicycles."

Use your bridge pickup, and turn up the tone, it'll thin out the sound some...

Thanks for the suggestions....

yeah I know it's kinda of a losing battle. Maybe I'll just buy the new CROSSROADS Digitech pedal and rock out http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
