I bought this Jr for myself and it was in great shape when it arrived -- except for some pretty worn frets. After a fresh board level/refret, it plays like a champ. Really happy! I'm looking forward to it getting some use at shows this summer. Date stamp inside reads December 9 1941. Two days late, huh?

1 1/4" nut, 13 3/4" scale, and a soundclip/more pics at the blog post (click here) (http://antebelluminstruments.blogspot.com/2015/06/1941-stradolin-jr-archtop-mandolin.html).

Wow! Listened to the soundclip, that thing really sounds nice! Good, full tone, not "tinky" at all. Very nice find. Congrats!

Thanks guys -- and yes, I'm happy on the find. It's always a gamble but even with the antique mona-steel strings that it came with, it had a good sound, so I went whole hog on the refret to do it honor... :)

A really nice instrument. I liked the sound a lot. Are the tuners original? Maybe I didnīt catch the information on your website. Also - as you wrote on your website - the bridge top is now compensated whereas the original bridge tops come uncompensated. That is something to look out for. Yes, a Strad-O-Lin... great little instruments.

Yup, tuners are original. They work alright, but I'm thinking of repro units for a tighter feel down the line...

Curiously, I see these tuners on Oscar Schmidt products all the time, so they may have been East Coast machines...
