Recently I've bought a nice Gibson F5-G, based on the serial# it was produced 1995 in the Bozman plant, but theres no sign of a supervisor.
Sound is marvellous, full lower midrange for a good chop, and a good presence for a fine projection.

Here are some photos:

I like it very much and depending on the suitable pick I play different kinds of music including italian Calace compositions on it.

I really like the aura of these mid 90's Gibsons. It's like they weren't sure exactly where to go with the build and look, but they turn out very nice and unique.

Interesting, I notice the label says Nashville. I have an F5-G built in late 1995 in Bozeman, signed by Bruce Weber. And it says Bozeman. Great mandolins though!

Based on that label(which is a Nashville label as pointed out above), you've got a 1999 Gibson F5G. There's a spot on the pic that precludes me from identifying the month but it is the 5th day (05) and the first made that day(01).

Charlie Derrington era Gibson; instead of Bozeman specs, you've got a more traditional "Loar-spec" mandolin there: compound dovetail neck joint, Loar carving graduations, Loar neck profile & angle, etc.

Very nice looking mando!

Sample Serial# - 90305019 would read YMMDDNNC where C is the century, Y the year, M month, D date, N number produced that day.

Congrats!

Those F5-G's have wonderful tone and the older ones have an ebony finger board. Gibson has since switched to rosewood for the finger board, I'm not sure if that has any affect on tone or durability but the ebony looks very nice contrasted with the pearl dot markers. Yours presents as new. Great find.
