I was recently given a Harding and Miller Mandolin called the Nightengale. It plays beautifully, and has many of the classical features of late 19th Century, early 20th century craftmanship. The body is striped as a result of two diffent types of wood making up the bowl of the body. It has 8 strings and 17 frets, and the strings are held in place by a sea scallop shell made from tin. Can anyone give me additional information regarding this instrument.
