Thought you folks might want to check this one out....
It's fresh out of the gate....

Curly redwood top...

I really like the Novax fan-fretting system, which essentially gives each string it's own scale-length...

Just cranked it through a Vox AC30, and the lipstick PU is a winner on an electric mandolin...

Check out Joel's other creations at the Earnest (http://www.earnestinstruments.com/) website...

Cool axe!

Bruce, I owned one of these for awhile, and I've regretted letting it go. The Novax is an amazingly comfortable and adaptable approach to the tension disparity between the E and the C string.
Great sound, great craftsmanship. You've done well!

I bought Mandohack's Boomerang because I lusted after a Novax fretboard. What a great playing emando! Great value too. You have to blow a lot more money to get any real upgrade in playability. I just wish the pickup was a little hotter, and maybe in a different place/orientation. But I wish a lot of goofy things. Congrats! You won't be disappointed, and if you are, you shouldn't be...

OK, all we need is to have Peter and Joel chime in and we can have the whole ownership history of Mike's Boomerang in this thread! LOL

I very briefly owned the Boomerang before Ted, but I couldn't get the hang of the fretboard. (Hangs head in shame)

Too bad, 'cause the mando itself was the coolest thing I'd ever owned (well, before my Mini-Mosrite, at least). I wish I'd have been a better player to deserve that axe!

Bruce, yours looks cooler than cool. Congrats!

Gosh, my baby's been around the block? Maybe I should get my friendship ring back from her...

I can't remember what pickup is in that original Boomerang, but Kent Armstrong makes a hotter lipstick tube p/u now. It could be changed. I had no idea that mando had made the rounds. Glad to hear everyone sort of liked it. Joel

That thing is too cool! How about something like a ZVex Super Hard On to boost the signal? http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif

Well, I have the Bacorn that the seller gave up when he got the Chase. Wonder what he's moved on to?
