Anyone ever try a Ramelectro mandocello?

I'm really a fan of the Danelectro guitar sound, so seeing this Ramelectro mandocello has made me curious if anyone has played one:

They're currently $900 at Lark Street Music.

I played one At Lark Street last week (I live 15min from Lark Street). They are pretty cool. Not sure if I would ever buy one but it was fun to play.

I understand the guy (Mr. Ramos) used to build -- or perhaps custom builds on demand --a Ramo mandolin that looks like the Ramelectro in the above pic.

I'll be at Lak Street Music on Monday to drop of my mando for some setup work. I was already planning on trying these out. They sure look cool

I tired one out last weekend and wasn't all that impressed. The particular instrument wasn't setup well, and the neck wasn't to my taste. The little sister - the mandola - however was fun to play.
