I've got a whole new appreciation for you folks who build mandolins. This lil' fella was really fun to do, but I think my execution could use some practice for the next go-around. I'm entering in the Adult Class bracket at my son's Cub Scout Pinewood Derby and Race day is tomorrow! zoom zoom

Awesome! And you're a fellow MI'gander to boot!

Is 'Adult Class' bracket where the cars have a scroll? :whistling:

That's great! The Pinewood Derby was one of my favorite events when I was a scout.:)

How does she sound? You know, if you give her a speed neck she will be faster. Good luck in the races!

And think of the advantage you have over the others - you can tune your engine!

If it produces mandolin tunes while running the race, it will get the Grand Prix for sure.

If you could attach the strings to some cheap Chinese tuners mounted in the wheel hubs, the faster they'd go out of tune the faster the car would go. Get really cheap ones for the best result.

Well unfortunately I didn't win the race because of some alignment issues, but I did get lots of compliments from the other parents and Scout leaders. Thanks for all the compliments and jokes here too, I'm glad you're enjoying this thread!
