I have been kicking around the idea of putting out an EP of just mandolin (bluegrass/country Traditionals) with no vocals as I have an old Webcor 1/4" reel to reel recorder that I can send the tapes off for LP pressing.

Is there any mandolin artist that have recorded just mandolin before?

I know what Chris Thile does playing classical pieces would work easy, but I haven't seen it done with bluegrass/folk/country styles.

Check out Jesse Cobb's CD Solitude. It's solo mandolin and it's terriffic.

That is some good stuff! Now just record it on a reel to reel pressed to LP and that's what I am after!
