Ry Cooder has been one of a few musicians that always gets me.
I sat down with the Stones' Let It Bleed CD and found that his first solo starts with pretty much the minor pentatonic played on one string with lots of tremelo.
Of course his timing and feel are awesome, I play it like a scale, he makes it sound like a vocal. Cool way to see that scale.
