He's been selling instruments for over 600 years. Quite a bit of experience.

I used to have one of those. Actually a decent mandolin and sounded good with the P90. Paid $400 for it and sold it for $650, but that was a decade ago. But at her asking price I think it would be better to put the money into a modern mandolin with a modern pickup system. Of course, with 600 years experience maybe she knows something I don't know. It is the girl in the photo that's selling the mandolin, isn't it?

Hah! These babes are from some stock photo site. Look at the sloppy photoshop work -- either that or that woman has a very odd and lumpy left hand.

One identical pose for two different instruments, two different times. Definitely Photoshop.

...and an odd-looking hand transplant on each.

If you're swayed to buy a $1600 instrument by the photoshopped person holding it... you're a sucker.

Hmmmm... how about a 6 figure instrument-- or something similar...(there must be some photoshopping in there)

If there was photoshopping in that photo, it was to put back the "Gibson" on the peghead. Didn't BM gouge out the 'Gibson' part at one time?

Fair point Jim but how many middle aged dudes are looking to cuddle vicariously with Bill Monroe? ;)

Teak, the peghead has been repaired and Bill appreciated it. It currently resides in the Country Music Hall of Fame and the headstock scroll and inlay are all repaired. It may not be for sale but with enough money, everything is for sale, right?

The evidence from an analysis of 698,722 different Cafe threads is in, and it indicates that the answer is 'lots.'
