Palm chisels

I designed and made a few variations on this theme earlier this year for a project, and I've found them very handy for luthiery. They were actually designed in collaboration with some puppet carvers, but that's another story! Anyhow, here are some beauty shots, if anyone's interested.

I've got a slightly rougher and quicker make iteration with a fixed blade (this one is removable, puppet makers have a lot of specific geometries of chisel; there's one for shaping the insides of the palms, really a palm chisel...). I might be making a short batch of them next year some time, if the stars align.

Looks like Beech in the handle. Nice tool which I expect functions as well as it looks.

Looks like a nice tool, i never use my long chisels any more the shorter palm chisels are so much better and accurate at least for me.
