Iam learning what I can by ear and a hand full of chords and I mean 1 hand...what are some simple songs that you guys can lead me to where their is some strumming and a little picking? I am doing like:
Jolene
Shady Grove
Foggy mountain break down ( just the 3 chords) no picking
Wafering Stranger
lonesome Moonlight Waltz
If any one knows the Mandolin run for A Lighthouse tale (Nickle Creek) I just know the chords.

Anyways what are some others that you guys do that are easy and will work my fingers to get them trained.

My first tune on mandolin was , " Losing my Religon ", by REM .
It has a nice mix of simple chords and some simple riffs .
There are a couple of great and free tutorials of this on YouTube.

All in key of C (the way I play them). All pretty simple.

the one iam working on now is Dawgs breath (Ricky Skaggs) its pretty easy just the picking is a little fast for me...I worked out all the chords on guitar and used them on yhe mandolin and works out great,,,now the picking I worked out at a slower tempo.
