Just got through listening to the new Hot Rize project "When I'm Free". It is really, really good. This might turn out to be my personal favorite, maybe even better than "Take it Home". The album starts out strong but lags a little towards the end. Favorite cuts are Come Away and You Were On My Mind This Morning, (both O'Brien songs). Great guitar work from Bryan Sutton and Pete's banjo playing is just what the song(s) call for, no more, no less.

i was actually a little disappointed in the new album. It was good, but i expected it to be alot better. I didnt think any tracks really stood out for me.
My favorite Hot Rize album is Untold Stories, by far. Every track on that album was great, followed by the original Hot Rize album.
Just my opinion

I enjoyed it. It sounds like Hot Rize. I found it to be a fun and engaging listen. First time being on a drive down to Nashville for Hot Rize and Del McCoury live. Good stuff.. two thumbs up. It stays in the truck CD player currently. R/
