I recently obtained this from Will Kimble who sold it for a very fair price with a refret and a nice Tweed shaped hard case.

I'd been scanning the Cafe Classifieds for a couple of years for one of these.

It's very easy and fun to play - not quite as much of a banjo killer as I'd like but it has great shimmery high end and nice chunky mid.

It really shines when plugged in to a PA through my LR Baggs PADI.

I realize it is unlikely to improve tonally over time - but it sounds pretty fine for what it is - it's well built and it certainly is both a conversation starter and is likely to invoke reactions in those who are tradition bound.

Not my actual Mix (the first post depicts it - but the shot is from Will)... I just like the better detail here.

My Mix A5 is now on its second set of frets [Evo], a fingerboard leveling was part of the process.

perhaps why I'm the 3rd owner.. it had a badly installed set of Waverlys too .

I tend to solve Issues rather than just Flip them without disclosing problems.

If I were ordering New I'd Spec the Top faces be Black ,
feature the fabric weave on the Back.

Another Schertler PU in it, I just bring a Cord when a Jam has a PA channel free.

Patch in the Mic pre channel in my AC-60 .. when it's BYOA.
