It's been a while since I've been here in the Cafe, just moved to a new home so I've been a bit busy.

This Past weekend, we combined the choirs at our church and performed the Easter Vigil Service. The service and music were both in English and Spanish.

Towards the end of the Service, on one of the songs, the trumpet player and I (on the mando) were playing parts of the "Ecstasy of Gold" from the Good, Bad and the Ugly mixed in with the Spanish Version of the Allahluya. In case you don't remember the song, it was when Tuco was running around the Graveyard looking for Bill Carson's Grave.

After the song was over, we looked at each other and kind of chuckled a bit. None of it was planned.

Something silly to share. Tuco would have been proud of us.

A little different from our Easter Service. I sang in "The Messiah" over the weekend! No mando there though, just some "High Lonesome" tenor- Handel style.

We did a "bluegrassy" rendition of "Jesus Christ is Risen Today" at Communion. I did a solo that was based on the melody, but with some tricks thrown in. I could have done it better, but it went OK and everyone seemed to like it.
