I thought about posting this in Mad Dawg's Alt-Country CDAS thread, but I think this warrants it's own thread...

I just picked up a copy of Mando Saenz's CD, Watertown, and am highly impressed...If you're into alt-country you owe it to yourself to check this kid out...Great vocals and #songwriting, and the instrumentation is superb--Acoustic guitar, dobro, pedal steel, fiddle, accordion, and of course, mandolin...

Honestly, it's been a while since I've been this excited about a new artist...

I suspect that Mando is short for Armando, but that's just a guess...According to the liner notes, the mandolin player on the album is Bobby Flores...

Think I'll bump this to the top one last time...

C'mon folks...Tell me what you think of this disc....Good, bad, indifferent, I don't care...Just looking for some of those abundant Cafe opinions. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

...and trying to share some new music I think is really cool...
Thanks, Mike

p.s. Again, I have absolutely no connection to Mr. Saenz...I'm just stoked about this new disc... http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif
