She arrived a couple weeks ago. Could not be happier with the purchase. Big thanks to Jeff Cowherd (Mr. J Bovier himself) for the custom setup. He installed an Allen TR2 Tailpiece and a K&K Twin as well. Love this thing:

I LOVE my JB F5 Special.
They really are beautiful instruments.
I have not experienced many mandolins other than this one so I went to McCabes in Santa Monica to check out their stock.
They had about twenty different mandolins on the wall from Kentucky, Eastman, Etc.
I did not play one mandolin that I would have preferred to my JB.
They were nice, but they did not have the thick woody tone that mine has.
For the money the JBs are really amazing.
I am sure you will love your JB more and more as time goes on.
Congratulations. It is a beauty. :)
