Nonesuch Records is set to release Bass & Mandolin on September 9, 2014, the second recorded collaboration from bassist Edgar Meyer and mandolinist Chris Thile. The project contains ten original compositions. Meyer also plays piano on the album and Thile plays guitar. The duo begins a North American tour next week with new dates still being added.

Anyone else order the T-shirt along with the disc? It's too funny: a picture of a bass (the fish) along with the words "Bass & Mandolin."

Oh, and the music is fantastic, too.

Also got the t-shirt (as I play bass and mandolin) and the CD. Was out of town this weekend, so didn't get the CD until we got back on Sunday, but have been listening to it fairly continually since then. Great CD! Both musicians are absolute musical geniuses and are pushing the limits on their instruments.
