View Full Version : What the heck is this? Who made it?

This mandolin was purchased used by my father in about 1970 (I think). He never paid much for anything, so I imagine it's an inexpensive, entry level. It does appear to be mahogany with a spruce top, F-style and has only one identifying number on it "YD8". I've seen similar, but not exact, headstock designs. Any clues would be appreciated.:confused:

I hope this doesn't come off as rude, but you're going to have to show much more than that to get any kind of possible info......Flowerpots are a dime-a-dozen.

Show us a picture of the whole entire mandolin, one of the front and one of the back and if you can do it add a photo of the label inside the body. Look through the "f" hole and tell us what you see. Thanks. We are always eager to help.

That flowerpot looks just like the '70s Ibanez 524, more of the body would help...
