View Full Version : Feedback on tune

Maybe this is a strange request; but I recently posted a jig to the Song/Tune Project forum (Subject: "My new jig: Cricket") and I was hoping someone could critique it for me. I like the way it turned out, but I would love to get feedback on it... good, bad, or indifferent. One thing I wasn't sure thrilled about was the chord progression... but I wasn't hearing anything more interesting. Maybe the progression is fine and it's just a matter of how you play it.

FWIW: I wrote it on the mando, but if I can get the bowing right I think it would be a good fiddle tune (maybe even the whistle, but it's got a key change that might be tricky). Oh... and I hate the name (The Cricket, Cricket Jig, http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif) but I was at a loss for something better.

Anyway, I know it takes time to learn a tune, but if some of you have the time and can give me some feedback it would be appreciated. I've got it posted as a .pdf for those that don't have TEFview. For those that do there's a .tef file you could just listen... but input on whether it's "playable" would be good too.

Thanks,
