Here are some pics of my new MK. The added features are the flame maple binding and the one-piece Allen tailpiece. Solid spruce top, solid flamed maple back and sides w/ flame maple binding. Rock maple neck w/ radiused fingerboard in Ebony(10"), Abalone mini-dot inlays, gold Grover hardware, scooped fingerboard extension, double adjustable truss rod, adjustable ebony bridge, dovetail neck joint, Graphtech Tusq nut. The scroll, top and back was not as deeply carved as advertised, but that's OK for me. I just love the sound. It was as good as my A-9 I recently sold. My wife even commented that it was louder than my other mandos. Anyway....enjoy the pics.

Boy, that came out too small. I'll try again in a minute.

That is a nice looking mandolin. I hope she serves you well. I've had an MK Firefly for a years and a half now and I love it.

I like that maple binding---real classy looking. Lp

Yeah, the binding is a real plus...along the fretboard also. The minus is that the binding stops at the tight curve on the scroll. There is no binding on the headstock either.

Nice looking. Is that one of those harmonic supressors on the fourth fret?http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

I've never had the chance to own an instrument with maple binding, but boy it sure does look great!

Doug:

The only harmonic suppressors I own are my fat stubby fingers.
That's the top ring of the stand showing.
