Good guess. Even the simple inlays look special....I can't wait to see the finished product. This one will have tortoise binding...something a little different.
The top and back are cut and the wood looks really nice.

I just received new pictures of my new mandolin from Jim....it's looking very nice ! I am sure looking forward to getting my hands on it....Maybe he will post a couple of the photos....I am a little hesistant to use his pictures...he's as good at the photography as he is building mandolins...

That's actually Scottie, a cairn terrier. It's hard to take a shot that she doesn't get in.

Tell Scottie that the new manolin will be well protected by Max, our Jack Russell

BTW, Max has logged more air miles than most humans...that look on his face would probably translate into something like " Holy ####....not another 14 hours in that crate ! Have you guys ever heard of business class ?" ....that is...if he could actualy speak...
You travelers haven't experiened real traveling until you travel with a dog AND and prized mandolin !!! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif

I love this post, dogs and mandolins, the 2 finest obsessions one can have.

They're cute, and I'm sure smart and fun....but real dogs weigh at least 50 pounds. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I second that Neal! My mandolin and my little yorkie are my obsessions!
