That is a sweet mandolin. very nice. How does it sound? Where did you get it? What's a Gallatin like that go for ($) these days?

It's sounding better now that Darryl Wolfe tweaked the set up a bit. I bought if from Musicians Friend, yeah I know, I know. I like old timey stuff and it fits the bill pretty good, I like it because it's very clear and rings and rings.

Next improvement is going to be a pickguard and probably one of Darryl's bridges.

Nice buy i played an f-hole Gallatin at gregboyd's at darrington bluegrass festival and boy did it ever have nice tone!

I'll try to get out and get a back shot today, sun is shining and wind is howlin'. #It's a mahogony back, so nothing real special. #I'll get a back shot of it with my Breedlove, now that's quite a back.

Looks really great Loren, I am a big fan of satiny finishes.
That Breedlove looks good too, even has a sort of weapon on top.

Yeah, that headstock can cause some serious damage. Gotta watch the ankle biters when I practice.
