Heard the song "Cajun Mandolin" on the radio, while I was in Lafayette LA for work.
Is that Grisman?
What album/CD has that song?

Maybe you heard it on "Bluegrass Mandolin Extravaganza" on the Acoustic Disc label. If so that would be Jesse McReynolds, Ronnie McCoury, and David Grisman splitting the lead breaks with Del McCoury on guitar. According to the liner notes, Jesse adapted this arrangement from the tune "Cajun Fiddle" written and recorded by Don Rich - fiddler for Buck Owens. It originally appeared on a Buck Owen's LP "Roll Out the Red Carpet." Jesse's arrangement features both cross picking and split string techniques.

MDW,

Thanks for the background info.
I'll add the CD to my "Must Have" list.

It was hard to hear all those players on those 'quality' radios in the hotel. ; )
