View Full Version : Over The Rainbow

This is my cover of John Reischmann's version of Over The Rainbow. I first saw John's version in a link from this forum somewhere. I used my new Kentucky KM 505, and the Thomann Ovid System CC 100 instrument microphone that has been discussed in a couple of other threads. I know that the chords at the very end are not quite right, so if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated!

I hope you like it, and any comments on technique etc. would be gratefully accepted!

Direct link in case embedding doesn't work! (http://youtu.be/biIWI9m_nE8)

I don't see a video or a link to a video.

It should be embedded Bill. Are you using Forum Runner? I have noticed that embedded videos don't seem to show up in forum runner until you click on it so it switches to a new screen.

This should be a direct linkhttp://youtu.be/biIWI9m_nE8

Couldn't get it but that's probably me. The chords you are likely having trouble with are D and D# then D and E if played in D. Starting with. "someday I'll wish upon a star" if that helps

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply Mandoplumb, the chords I am struggling with are at the very end of the song, and I think are peculiar to John Reischmann's version.

Jim, thanks for embedding the video. Since Bill first pointed it out it seems that it shows up embedded for me when I am logged on, and does not display if I am logged out - odd!

Nice job! Very jazzy :)

Very kind Tavy, but I think Mr Reischmann should take the credit for the jazziness! :)

Where can I find the chords?

They're on the tabledit file, above the staff.

See Rob's link below - thanks Rob!

JAK, BigSkyGirl kindly posted a link to a TabEDIT file on another thread. In case you didn't see that thread, here is her linkhttp://www.mandozine.com/music/search_results.php?searchfor=&tuneselectby=C&mandolevel=&category=&songkey=&artist=Reischman&transcriber=&sortby=T&sortorder=A&submit=

Hey Rob, I watched this while I was browsing mando vids on You Tube and was impressed. Really nice KM-505, too. I have my eye on one of those.

Thanks lflngpicker :) I really like the KM 505, I actually only bought it because I wore out the frets on my previous mandolin, and had a gig looming, but I have been really pleased with the sound. The one in the video actually had to be returned because of a crack in the back plate, but the replacement is just as nice sounding. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
