Kentucky KM 170 series - strings

What strings gauges come with the new Kentucky KM 172.
Would the light D'addario J62 have a nice sound on the instrument.

I would guess mine came with lights of some variety. I put a new set of J62s once or twice and they were fine. I slightly prefer the mediums but the nut required filing so the mediums would not bind while tuning.

The lights were easier to play

Thank you Mark. One last question, when you changed the strings that came with the mandolin and fitted the J62, did you require any further set up.

I believe J73's are installed at the factory. Installing J62's may work just fine, depending on the nut slots. Generally speaking, if you tune up to pitch, string binding is less of an issue.
