Hi everyone, just got a digital camera(thanks to me mother whom helps supports this starving luthier) so I just had to post something. Here is my personal mandolin which was the prototype for my current mandos. The pics aren't that great but I'll try to get some better ones tomorrow. I'll have a new one done in a couple weeks too.

Chris
Did you get the Canon A-70?
I'm starting to think we think alike. If I can come up with a camera soon I'll post some pictures of the mando I made for myself many years ago. It looks a lot like that one. (needs a new neck tho).

I did get the A-70. I've only been fooling with it for a couple hours now so hopefully I'll be able to get more detail shots tomorrow when the sun comes out.

This mandolin sounds good but a little to punchy/focused fundamental for me. I've since made a number of revisions for my current mandos that make them check in a lot more on the darker woody side; which I like more.

Good job Chris it doesn't get any better then that for a first try at mando building it looks flawless. Your new camera looks like its gonna take some nice pics.

That mandolin is #3. My first was an utter failure and now hangs broken on the wall.

Wish you were here. #A springlike day in beautiful Moab, Utah. I caught a blonde basking in the sun.

Yikes, Chris! In that last shot the mandolin looks dangerously close to the water, or even in it.

What, it's not a good idea to put your mando in the stream. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif Well it was just the endpin and only for a few seconds. This mando has seen worse.

Is that the SUN shining in those pictures....we haven't seen the sun up here in so long up here that I have forgotten what it looks like!

Beautiful mando. I love blondes.

Excellent Chris!! #One of these days when I get a bit more time (...he dreams on...) I will attempt a carved top and hope it comes out as beautiful as that. #That is some really fine grain in the wood.
