Here is a quick video I grabbed backstage at the Borrego Springs Performing Arts Center after dropping off a new "Big Hammer" mandocello for Lee Roy.

Not too shabby for the first song played on a new instrument -- Lee had about 16 seconds of picking time on the 'cello before the rest of the guys jumped in. . . AND no one is playing their "regular instrument".
Lee Roy - "Big Hammer" mandocello
Erik Alvar - Bass player for The Roys - is on a Sprite Two-Point mandola
Daniel Patrick - Banjo player for The Roys - is on Lee's F8 mandolin
Clint White - fiddle player for The Roys - is playing guitar
Here are a few shots of the mandocello --
117349 117350
117351 117353
The Roys are preparing to record a new CD, and I can't wait to hear how the 'cello fits into the mix!
