Old thread on Beltone, (http://www.mandolincafe.com/forum/showthread.php?19013-Anyone-know-anything-about-Beltone) including a brand ID from Mugwumps.

If it's one of the faux resonator instruments (not like the pic Jim G posted, but like this one (http://www.elderly.com/vintage/items/90U-4418.htm)), they're often found under the "Blue Comet" label as well.

But the Beltone Fauxbro invariably has F-holes.

good morning, sorry Jim its not like the one in your picture. there is no name on the head stock. Its says Beltone on the label inside the mandolin. would like to get a hard shell case for it, if its worth over lets say a $150.00 that way if I want to sell it, it will have something better than that chip board case. even than I do not want to spend a lot of money on a mandolin case for a mandolin I think I will not keep.

Here is a picture of my Belltone. But it looks more like Jim's than like yours I assume.

Sorry, Tony. Unless you can figure out a way to take some pics and maybe send them to us to post, we can't really know what you have. If you can take photos I or others here can post them for you. It would not be the resonator version since that has f-holes. Does it have those small holes surrounding the outside of the body?

Jeff's has f-holes. Is this one (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-30s-Beltone-Mandolin-/330964641142) like it?

your right Jim, I am going to pay a visit to sister's house out on eastern Long island & ask her to post a picture. second question is were can I get a nice case for this mandolin that won't break the bank.

Assuming it will fit, this is a decent inexpensive hard case (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/musicians-gear-hardshell-a-style-mandolin-case) sold by Musician's Friend.
