One that doesn't work. Okay, without sarcasm or being unwelcoming or unfriendly, you might also get help over at:

A Ford F-150 extended cab.

I would think the local garbage truck, the one with the hydraulic compactor on it.

The trick to getting an electified b&^%o to sound "right" is to use one of these:

Banjos lend themselves well to amplifying as far as tone goes. Where they don't do well is feedback. I have had good luck attaching standard piezos directly to the head and I really like the magnetic style such as the Fishman Rare Earth. I have had problems installing these on banjos that didn't have enough clearance between the head and coordinator rods so if you are going the magnetic pickup route, check the measurements first. :)

everyone can joke, but I use a Shertler when I play gigs and use the same pickup on mandolin mandola and 12 string guitar.works on every one.

I use one of THESE (http://www.goldtone.com/products/details/w/instrument/453/ABS-Banjo-Resonator-Guitar-Microphone-System) on my Tenor Banjo

But I also had a tB where someone had drilled a hole in the rim for a jack and stuck K&K twin heads to the underside of the skin with tape...

Worked fine.

I play 5 string banjo in the clawhammer, usually Round Peak, style. I usually just play acoustically, but for occasional amplification I usually use a dictation mic (bought it at Radio Shack; not the voice-activated type, I should add). I either tape it to the coordinator rod or clip it via a clip that I attached to the mic, to one of the tension brackets on the outside of the banjo rim; either way works fine in my experience though admittedly it does look kind of 'clunky'. YMMV.

I also have a wireless set up that has a mini mic with a clip that works great as well...

Nothing serious around this computer, although I wish Mandorich had read the first sentence of my first post.:mandosmiley:
