Yes indeed. I remember listening to his collaboration with Al Di Meola and John McLaughlin and being completely blown away.

Of course his solo performances were outstanding, but his touring ensemble--comprising cante, baile, as well as other instrumentation--provided the entire flamenco spectrum. One of the finest concert experiences I've enjoyed

Sad news ..... I saw that famous 'Live in SF' lineup with John Mclaughlin & Al Di Miola.

I was at that Friday night in SF show back in December of 1980. It was life changing, musically speaking. Paco was the wild card for me. Al Di and McLaughlin were both familiar, but Paco stold the show.
