I would like to share some pictures of a mandola that arrived in our workshop a few days ago. It's kinda rare to see a lombardic mandola as they were not so popular.

the soundboard is made out of spruce with ebony and rosewood decorations, bridge is made out of some kind of fruitwood (prabably) and then blackened.

The design of the bowl is very typical, rosewood ribs with boxwood(?) linings.

The ebony fingerboard and the peghead are decorated with MOP inlays, the pegbox upperdecoration is made in ebony and boxwood(?)

What is scale length? Is it to be tuned like a std European mandola?

Nice interesting instrument, like Jim, I'm interested in the scale length. I like the slightly flattened-out bowl as well.

Scale lenght is 425mm, probably it can be tuned in C but I would have to check this calcultaing string tension and gauges.
