Still looking for a nice engraved tailpiece cover for the Vega I bought on the Cafe.

Eugene posted a picture of a replacement cover that he had made for a Martin bowlback in this thread. (http://www.mandolincafe.net/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=15;t=14185;st=50)
Here is a closeup of the tailpiece cover on my 1914 Lansing Special, which is a lovely instrument - I am very pleased with it. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif
If you need more pictures then please let me know.

Refresh my memory, please. Which Vega did you get?

I will check my parts box to see what I have. In the least you could get a scalloped plain one and have it engraved and plated. I believe that the scallop tps were smaller when made to be used on bowlbacks.

Here is the one on my Style 3 Vega. I can rephotograph it if you need it.

From a previous vega bowl back tailpiece post. I believe you posted a picture of the one I purchased.

Mace,
I did locate the thread here (http://www.mandolincafe.net/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=12;t=18714;hl=vega).

Sorry, but I do post quite a bit and can;t recall every thread I was involved in.

Jim thats a cool TP and one I've never seen before! I don't follow the vega mandolins as close as i should but the early 1900's non Gibson instruments are a favorite of mine. I wish I could have one of each model/style but that ain't happening anytime soon. Thanks for sharing the pic!

Yes, I am. A tailpiece cover is not worth more than half of what I paid for the mandolin! To all, thanks for your help with this so far.
