I have a new ENGRAVED Allen Monteleone style tailpiece coming for this next week that should add "just enough" additional 'bling' to make this unique. Even with all the MOP, a lot of luthier skills were used and it is very playable and is developing very good tone and sustain for the jazz stuff I play. It is only 4 months old, but sounded pretty darn good the day it arrived.

Now that's unique like it is! Good looking too. What "make" is it?

I not sure I'd want one like that, someone might expect me to able to play the heck out it.

Tony (inlaidartist) indeed!! I ordered this one custom made the way I wanted with tiger striped sides, neck and flame back. Took 9 months, but it does get one noticed. I even expect myself to play better.

I think the Driftwood #011 (http://www.driftwoodmandolins.com/Mandolin011.html) is pretty special, with it's fabulous binding:

Great looking bridge on that Driftwood - did the builder make that, or was that an add-on?

PGAfan, what is your project? Are you designing a new instrument? What sort of colors, contrast, lines do you want to see? http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

The bridge is original. I think the owner wanted to have as much wood as possible http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
