After seeing all those beautiful Sorensen mandolins I was inspired to try a sunburst to match tortoise shell binding. It's about the easiest mandolin I've ever played. Engleman top, silver maple back and sides, radiused board. Nice robust sound. 111084111080111079

Looks beautiful! What are the markers on the fretboard made of? They don't look like MOP. They look really interesting. How about the color of the finish? Did the camera get it about right? The center of the burst looks really bright. Nice job!

Thanks guys. The fingerboard dots are tortoiseshell. I painted the floor of the hole white before I glued the dots in so that the golden color would show through. The photo is a little too bright. The actual color is much warmer in person. It's playing really great.

Gary I can't tell from the pics: is the fingerboard elevated or integrated?
