Well done on Rights Of A Man. It constantly amazes me how many versions of a single song can be out there. I have been playing this since I heard the Gordon Lightfoot version all those years ago. It is a song that stands the test of time.
Thanks for posting. What kind of Mandolin is it? It sounds great!

it's a gold tone gm60. i took a ca bridge off of it that had been installed improperly and replaced it with the original bridge and i couldn't be happier. i like the french satin finish way more than the nitrocellulose on my lm 400. it's way brighter and more responsive.
I am curious if the difference in the finish affects the sound like that across the board or if it's just this particular mando.

Gold Tone makes a fine mandolin. Play yours in good health!

blackberry blossom. it might not be perfect, but it sure was fun. i've replaced the bridge with another c.a. bridge that i sanded and fitted myself.

Good job. That's the perfect tempo for BBB IMO. Some play it at twice that tempo and the beauty of the tune just disappears.

I'm still really happy with this mando. At this point all the tonal flaws are caused by good ol' user error. At the end of the day that's what makes a good instrument. If you play it right, it sounds right.
Here's just a couple more.

land's end by tim o'brien. i learned this one off of the cafe tab

and for something completely different, can you get to that by funkadelic. who says you can't play funk on mandolin?

Hate to break it to you, but there is no "cure" for MAS. Only temporary treatments. Enjoy the mando, though!

please don't tell my wife that. Really though, this one speaks to me in a way only a couple instruments have and though i've only been playing mando for a couple years, i've been playing music for over 20. i'm not saying one won't catch my eye, but i'm a player, not a collector.i just want one to do what it's supposed to do. not that i haven't managed to collect quite a few toys over the years
