1965 Martin D-21 in excellent minus condition. This would be excellent condition but for a top scratch and a small repaired strap button hole on the upper side. This is a very original guitar with the original finish, bridge tuners, bridgeplate. It even has the original case in working condition. These pre '69 D-21's have the most Brazilian rosewood than any other Martin guitar. The back and sides are old growth, straight grained Brazilian and the fretboard and bridge are Brazilian RW as well.
The action is low/medium now but there is very little saddle to go down on. Measures .080 on the bass E string at the 12 fret and .070 on the high E at the 12 fret. The top scratch almost disappears when I rub a little lemon oil on it. It slowly comes back though. I've included pics with and without the lemon oil. There is also a short either deep scratch or shallow crack under the nut extending down the side of the neck. Not an issue but I thought I’d mention it.
The sound of this guitar is GREAT! Very woody and loud. It once belonged to a practicing musician and he had a good ear for sound.
Pics, click image above or link to the right. Because of the scratch on the top, I've lowered the price of this guitar to $4400 plus $120 to ship CONUS. Please feel free to ask any question. Thanks for looking!
