2006 Yanuziello Electric Mandolin
In all of my years working in and around this industry, I have had the opportunity to play some incredible instruments. At the top of that list would be Yanuziello. It is no wonder why amazing musicians like guitarist Bill Frisell and multi-instrumentalist Kevin Breit own and use Yanuziello instruments. At first glance, his flat-top electric instruments appear somewhat simplistic in design, but as you peel back the layers and observe the level of detail and quality of the craftsmanship it is quite astounding. From hand-made pickup covers to the tip of the toggle switch, Joe crafts every piece of his creations with the exception of some electronics and the incredibly stable Waverly/Gotoh tuners he uses on most instruments.
Here is a lovely Yanuziello Electric Mandolin that was crafted in 2006. It has a chambered red Alder body and curly maple top. The neck is constructed of Curly Maple and has a select Rosewood fingerboard. It has a 15” long scale, 16” radius and 1 1/4” polished bone nut. This has a Yanuziello custom made trapeze, Yanuziello Corian bridge and Yanuziello chromed brass pickup cover. The knobs, pickguard and truss rod cover are all hand-made by Joe using grained ivoroid. The pickup is custom Fralin wired to a volume and tone pot and the tuners are Gotoh with ivoroid buttons.
This mandolin has been played, however, not at all abused. It was maintained by Joe and he has performed a couple of minor finish touch-ups on the white portion of the body. There is very little fret wear and the hardware shows no tarnishing. This instrument will include its original case and certificate. In my last 3 weeks of having this instrument, I have not tuned it once. These instruments are the perfect bridge between art and build quality. Aside from being pretty to look at, it’s an incredible instrument. The next owner of this mandolin will not be disappointed.
Priced at $3500USD
