2009 "The Buckeye" F5 Mandolin, Free Delivery

Photo for Ad 144215

Here's another really good Buckeye mandolin, built by Pete Hart of Guysville, Ohio. Pete is one of the very best guys in the business and he's built quite a following over the years with his mandolins; they're known to have lots of volume, a strong chop and that thick, woody tone. Buckeye #09051 is built from a very unique "curly-birdseye" Sugar Maple, it has a Carpathian Spruce top, 1&1/8" nut width, oil-finished "speed" neck and a nitro lacquer sunburst finish.

This mandolin has been played extensively, but was well cared for by the previous owner and has great cosmetics. Upon receipt, we returned the mandolin to "like new" playing condition with the following upgrades:

*Planed the fretboard to smooth and create a very slight radius
*Installed EVO "modern sized" frets
*Installed a Cumberland Acoustic tortoise pickguard
*Scooped the fretboard extension
*Made/Installed a new pearl nut
*Fit a new, full-contact Cumberland Acoustic bridge
*Installed a new, "The Buckeye" engraved James Tailpiece
*Installed new, gold Waverly tuners w/Ebony buttons.

With the upgrades and new set-up, this mandolin plays and sounds as good as it looks. Always in demand, Buckeye mandolins are rarely available as "used" instruments (especially in this condition) and new orders can run about a year (or longer), due to the very limited production. PRICED AT $5,200.00 with a TKL CASE and FREE DELIVERY in the CONUS. An upgrade to a Calton or Price case is a possibility for the buyer.
